Sometimes you may not be able to connect your accounts. Find out why.
ISSUE 1
Your financial institution isn’t listed
There are a few reasons why you may not see your financial institution on our list.
REASON 1
We haven’t integrated with your financial institution yet
Our network of supported financial institutions is vast and growing. Plaid currently integrates with more than 12,000 financial institutions around the world. But we haven’t integrated with them all yet.
REASON 2
The financial institution is supported on Plaid, but the integration isn't compatible with your app
Different apps require particular Plaid products and corresponding financial information in order to provide services to you. The search results for these apps only include the integrations that support all required products, which is why your search results may be limited.
REASON 3
We can’t reliably connect to your financial institution at this time
Some financial institutions may prevent you from connecting your accounts to third-party apps through Plaid. Our goal is to work with these financial institutions to enable access to your financial data so you can use the tools you rely on to manage your money.
ISSUE 2
Your connection failed
If you try to connect your financial institution and it doesn’t work, it may be because:
REASON 1
The login and password associated with your financial institution may have changed
To solve this problem, first verify your login and password on your financial institution’s website, then go back into the app and try reconnecting your accounts.
REASON 2
Action may be required with your bank account
In some cases, Plaid is unable to connect with your bank due to a required action, such as agreeing to new terms of service or setting up a new security requirement. You can resolve these issues by logging in to your online banking portal and completing the required actions.
REASON 3
The Plaid integration may be experiencing technical difficulties
Sometimes the issue is on our end. In that case, you can rest assured that we’ll work to fix it.
REASON 4
Your financial institution may be experiencing technical difficulties
When financial institutions’ servers are overwhelmed or down for maintenance, they may not be able to support the kind of connectivity Plaid provides.
