Solve user issues with our new Item Debugger and improvements to Institution Status

Pritee Tembhekar

As you build your app and onboard users, we understand how important it is for you to be able to resolve user connection issues quickly and accurately.

Today, you have access to troubleshooting tools like Institution Status and Link Logs for visibility into real-time performance data. Now, we’re sharing new improvements to give you more actionable insights and views into your user’s experience with Plaid.

Introducing the Item Debugger

We’re excited to introduce the Item Debugger, our newest troubleshooting workflow in the Dashboard that gives you a comprehensive view of any Plaid Item in one place. Specifically, you’ll see:

  • More information about the user’s financial institution, including historical status and the last time the data was updated

  • Any errors associated with the Item

  • Recommended actions to help your users resolve their errors

Improvements to Institution Status

Additionally, we’ve recently released a number of improvements to our Institution Status tool to make it easier to see Plaid’s connection with financial institutions in real-time, including:

  • A new watchlist feature–the ability to create a custom group of institutions whose health you want to view on a regular basis

  • Backend changes to improve how we report an institution’s status

  • More product granularity–broken out between new Item adds and recurring data updates–to help you understand an institution’s health across Plaid’s products

  • Recommended actions to help your users resolve errors

Getting started

The Institution Status watchlist is available now, and we’ll be rolling out the Item Debugger and improvements to Institution Status over the coming weeks. If you don’t yet see them in your Dashboard, request early access here.

We’d love to hear your feedback on these features. Let us know what you think. What else can we do to make it easier for you to troubleshoot your integration? Reach our team at @PlaidDev on Twitter.
