Having the right tools to monitor external systems can make or break your ability to provide a smooth experience for your users. At Plaid, we know these tools can go a long way in helping you more easily troubleshoot user issues from day one.

Today, we’re excited to introduce two tools–event logs and product-level details in institution status, to give you even more visibility into your integration.

Event logs in the Dashboard

The first step to troubleshooting an issue is being able to look under the hood. Starting today, you can view your most recent API requests and webhook events directly in the Dashboard.

Head over to the new event logs page to filter by error code, response code, time window, or institution.

Product-level details in institution status

We know that it’s important to have details around the state of our integrations with financial institutions, so that you can accurately handle user issues. We’ve updated institution status to include institution health broken out by product. Now, in addition to Item adds, you can see Transactions, Auth, Balance, and Identity.

To get started, check the status of an institution in the Dashboard, or use the /institutions/get_by_id endpoint.

We’ll continue to invest in features that make it easy and efficient for you to build on Plaid. In the meantime, we welcome any feedback on these latest improvements and anything else you may want to see. Reach out to us via the Dashboard or Twitter.
