The Account Management team in Plaid’s Fintech customer segment leverages our deep technical, product, and industry knowledge to help our Fintech-focused customers build and scale amazing applications and businesses. We act as partners, advisors, and advocates for our customers to help shape how their customers – consumers and businesses alike – interact with their finances.
As a Fintech Account Management Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing the customer base, as well as setting the vision and strategy to build long-term partnerships with our customers. You will lead a team of account managers who work with some of the largest Fintechs in the world. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally across our product and other go-to-market teams to help build solutions that drive growth for customers and your team. As our business rapidly expands, we’re looking for an action oriented and thoughtful team leader who can also hire thoughtfully, bringing the right relationship managers into our business and enable them to steward the next phase of Plaid’s growth and impact.
Ideal candidates will have experience in financial services, lending, or tech companies, in mentoring and managing teams, setting and hitting revenue goals, building relationships internally and with external stakeholders, and feel comfortable analyzing customer trends to identify new growth opportunities. We are looking for a leader who is thoughtful, proactive, and creative when problem solving, and is comfortable operating in ambiguity with limited oversight.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting, hiring, and developing a world-class account management team to support our fastest growing customers and deliver on revenue targets for the business.
- Motivating and inspiring each team member to enable personal and professional career growth.
- Engaging directly with C-level executives internally and externally to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Building and executing the strategy that drives upsell/cross-sell revenue and renewals at scale, and operationalizing the process to drive team efficiency.
- Working in a high-pace, cross-functional environment that presents different challenges every day.
- Working with leadership across the company to set direction for the Fintech team and Plaid as a whole.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience, ideally 3+ years managing a revenue-driving team.
- Proven track record of success driving revenue through sales or account management at a technology company, working with fintech, financial services, or tech organizations as clients.
- Excitement for recruiting, onboarding, and coaching; a thoughtful approach to team planning and development.
- Strong ability to articulate technical and financial value prop – internally for cross-functional collaboration, as well as externally to customers – including to executive audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to understand customer trends at scale.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication skills to drive internal alignment and results.
$157,440.00 - $268,800.00 per year
The target base salary for this position ranges from $157,440/year to $268,800/year [Zone 1]. The target base salary will vary based on the job's location.
Our geographic zones are as follows:
Zone 1 - New York City and San Francisco Bay Area
Zone 2 - Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington D.C.
Zone 3 - Austin, Boston, Denver, Houston, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego
Zone 4 - Raleigh-Durham and all other US cities
Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
