Plaid in the Netherlands
Keith Grose
Countries around the world are facing major economic obstacles at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic, and people and small businesses everywhere are feeling greater financial difficulties than ever before. In the midst of all the pressures and uncertainty, simple financial tasks like transferring money between accounts, sending family members financial support, donating to a favorite charity, and receiving loans shouldn’t be additional stressors, but they are.
This time of crisis shows there is still much more work to do to make it possible for consumers to have full control over their finances and true portability. To continue creating a more interconnected digital financial ecosystem across the world, today we’re announcing support for institutions in the Netherlands, as well as the opening of our second overseas office in Amsterdam.
The Netherlands is a hub for fintech in Europe, home to over 400 fintech companies, including one of the biggest global fintech unicorns. To support this thriving community of fintech developers, we’ve built integrations with the largest financial institutions in the Netherlands, including ING, Rabobank, and ABN Amro. Developers can now use Transactions, Identity, Auth, Balance, and Assets to provide services that they need.
Moments of global turbulence like the one we’re currently facing underscore the importance of our work in digitizing finance. Similar to how fintech emerged from the 2008 global financial crisis, we hope that Plaid can serve as a platform for new innovations to emerge in this trying time for us all. For existing customers, we’ve made it easy for you to expand to the Netherlands through your existing Plaid integration. If you’re new to Plaid, please contact our team to get access today.
