At Plaid Effects, we announced a number of new products and updates to help you fight fraud, meaningfully improve credit decisions, and drive growth. From Plaid Protect, our fraud intelligence platform, to new AI tools that make building an integration with Plaid faster and easier, these updates are all about helping you build with more speed and confidence.

Here’s a look at our launches and enhancements from June.

Featured products: Transfer

What’s new:

• ⚡ Transfer now supports instant pay-ins via Request for Payment (RfP): With RfP, enjoy instant confirmation and final settlement any day of the week.  Account verification, balance checks, and bank eligibility are built-in to reduce fraud and returns. Our multi-rail bank payments platform now enables intelligent routing transactions across RTP, FedNow, Same Day ACH, and more.
  
  

What’s better:

• ✅ Customize risk checks for Transfer directly in the Plaid Dashboard: Build and test rules that help reduce ACH returns by tailoring logic around balance availability, login state, and more. This gives you more control over how and when to accept or reroute transactions—especially when balances can’t be sourced or funds look tight.

What’s new:

• 🏠 [Limited Availability] FCRA-compliant mortgage reports: Mortgage lenders can now access asset verification (VoA) and employment refresh reports that meet Fannie Mae guidelines. Contact your Plaid Account Manager to learn more.

• 💵 Access real-time cash flow data with minimal lift: You can now access Plaid’s credit solutions through our partner ecosystem including Experian, FICO, and MeridianLink—making it easier to get started with real-time cash flow data to improve decisioning and manage risk.

What’s better:

• 🏦 Improved count of NSF transactions: We now factor in balance data more effectively when counting non-sufficient fund (NSF) transactions. We've also refined how these transactions are categorized to improve accuracy. For Base Report, this will impact nsf_overdraft_transactions_count and the corresponding fields within 30-90 days.

• 📚 Revamped API documentation: We added guidance to our API documentation to help you tune Signal Rules to improve performance while managing risk.

• 📊 New Link analytics to drive conversion performance: We added a number of new features to Link Analytics in the Plaid Dashboard to give you deeper insights including conversion and top errors by institution, geography, device type, and more. Compare your performance to Plaid-wide benchmarks to spot opportunities and optimizations.

What’s new: 

• 📈 More investments data: We added new fields to our Investments API to help you deliver deeper insights and more personalized recommendations to your customers. These include:

  • Fixed income details like yield rate, maturity date, issue date and face value for holdings (e.g. bonds and treasuries). 

  • Sector and industry tags for each holding—giving you greater clarity for your customers with richer portfolio breakdowns.

  • Option close price now has improved accuracy and coverage.

What’s new: 

• 🤖 AI tools for building with Plaid: We launched an AI Developer Toolkit to help you build and test faster with Plaid. Use our AI Integration Guides to generate code for common Plaid use cases, and test locally with a sandbox MCP server that lets AI tools simulate users, trigger webhooks, and return Plaid data in real time.

What’s better: 

• ➕ An easier way to explore and add Plaid products: We redesigned the product page in the Plaid Dashboard to make it easier for you to discover, understand, and request new Plaid products. The new experience features clearer descriptions and pricing, solution-based product groupings, and real-time request statuses.
