New Plaid docs to get you building faster

The Plaid docs are a key resource for you as you integrate with Plaid and help build the future of fintech. We want to ensure that you have what you need so that building with Plaid is a self-serve and streamlined experience–whether you’re a founder launching your first product or a developer scaling a larger business.
Today, we’re excited to share our new docs that we’ve rebuilt from the ground up. All the information you need to get started is now centralized in one place. We’ve improved the navigation and search functionalities and have included more in-depth technical answers to commonly asked questions. You can also find several new resources to make it easier to go from exploring to launching.
Find the resources you need in one place
The docs now host resources that were previously found in our Help Center or emailed directly to developers from our support team. This includes a comprehensive breakdown of all Plaid client and server-side error codes, making troubleshooting easier.
We also redesigned the experience to surface the most relevant product information. Now, you can find a helpful overview and an introductory use-case guide for each of Plaid’s products to help you understand which ones may be best for your app or service.
Improved navigation and search functionality
If you’re a long-time Plaid developer, you’re likely to notice a new design and even clearer layout as you explore Plaid’s endpoints. Rather than one long scroll, we’ve implemented a side-by-side layout so you can see sample code next to specific fields for easier use and reference.
We also built a completely new search function by adding a search bar to the top of every page that gives you more thorough, targeted results and makes all of the information in our docs searchable. Now, you can search for specific endpoints, products, and error codes to have the most relevant information at your fingertips.
Get started more quickly
For developers new to Plaid, we’ve added several new resources to help you go from exploring to testing to launching. Our improved Quickstart helps you explore Plaid for the first time. New, step-by-step product implementation guides for our most commonly used products, like Transactions, Auth, and Balance, help you understand how to integrate with each product. Then, when you’re ready to go from Sandbox to Production, our new launch checklist outlines recommended steps you can take to ensure your integration is robust and efficient at launch.
What’s next
The new docs are just the beginning. We will continue to invest in the developer experience with new features like interactive content, live demos, and more personalization based on what you’re building. We are also exploring new resources–like an OpenAPI schema and community forums–to help make your experience integrating with Plaid as easy and efficient as possible.
What else would you like to see? Send feedback to our team directly at customer-feedback@plaid.com or use any of the new feedback links across the docs. Every piece of feedback is extremely valuable, and we look forward to working with you to make the developer experience even better for our community.
