Plaid's Community Town Hall: The next decade of fintech

Jean-Denis Greze

The next decade of fintech is quickly gaining steam, building on the unprecedented consumer behavior change and growth that we saw in 2020. Earlier this week, we hosted our first Community Town Hall of the year to bring together our community of developers and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of fintech, share the latest platform news from Plaid’s leaders, and answer your questions.

In case you missed it, here’s what we discussed:

  • Our core platform priorities: We’re focused on improving the quality of our products and making sure you can deliver best-in-class experiences to your end-users. This means everything from powering new use cases and going deeper on areas like lending, to improving Plaid Link with new features to optimize conversion, and providing tools to make it even easier to build and launch your apps with Plaid.

  • Our data access strategy: We want to ensure that your users have access to the apps you’re building no matter where they bank. To reach that goal, we’re partnering closely with financial institutions to provide more reliable and secure API-based connectivity – by signing data access agreements, and building API solutions for institutions through our open finance platform, Plaid Exchange.

  • The fintech ecosystem: Being part of this community is more than just building on our APIs – it’s also about having a seat at the table in policy discussions to advocate for the fintech ecosystem and all of you. We’ll continue to look for ways to minimize ecosystem risk and maximize trust by putting consumer transparency and control at the center of everything we do.

If you missed our event, don’t worry –  check out the event recording, and drop us a note on Twitter at @PlaidDev to say hi! We’d love to hear any feedback you have about the Town Hall or your experience with Plaid. Also, be sure to sign up for our upcoming workshops in March.

We can’t wait to see what you all build next. Catch you at the next Town Hall!
