We enable Plaid’s sustainable growth by providing financial insights and raising capital to invest in our business.
We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

Plaid is at an inflection point. With a scaled business growing at attractive rates, we are accelerating our Go-to-Market engine with conviction and precision. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-visibility, high-impact finance leadership role — reporting directly to the CFO and serving as the dedicated finance partner to the COO — at one of the most consequential fintech companies in the world. The Head of GTM Finance will help shape how Plaid deploys capital, wins in the market, and builds the analytical infrastructure to sustain growth at scale.

The Role

The GTM Finance function is a strategic partner to Plaid’s world-class Go-to-Market organization. The team owns revenue forecasting, ROI analytics, and performance visibility — and serves as a critical voice in resource allocation decisions. As Head of GTM Finance, you will work closely with Sales, Marketing, RevOps, Product, and the Executive team to ensure our GTM engine delivers best-in-class results.

You will report directly to the CFO and act as the primary finance partner to our Chief Operating Officer, who oversees all GTM functions including Sales, Marketing, Commercial, and Communications. You will inherit a lean, talented team with plans to scale appropriately over time.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Forecasting - Lead the team in constructing and integrating bottoms-up customer forecasts, top-down segment-level views, and statistical models into a unified, high-fidelity revenue forecast. Continuously sharpen methodology by incorporating internal signals and external market inputs.
  • Resource Allocation - Partner with the COO on capital deployment decisions including headcount planning, capacity modeling, and territory design. Drive toward clear ROI targets by segment and in aggregate.
  • Performance Tracking & Visibility - Own and evolve Plaid’s GTM performance reporting, ensuring we’re focused on the highest-signal metrics, with clear benchmarks and targets tied to our financial and strategic objectives. Surface actionable insights that raise execution quality. Partner with RevOps on CRM hygiene and data integrity.
  • Cross-functional Partnership - Build trusted relationships across the organization, acting as the connective tissue between the GTM function and key partners including Product and Engineering. Translate commercial context into decisions that span the full business.
  • Board Reporting - Own the GTM narrative for quarterly Board meetings, synthesizing business performance, progress against strategic priorities, and a forward-looking perspective into compelling, executive-ready materials.
  • Team Building - Define the future-state of the GTM Finance team and execute against it. Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team capable of operating at the pace and complexity of a scaled, growth-stage business.

Qualifications

    • 12+ years in Finance, with a background spanning management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a high-growth B2B technology company

    • Deep fluency in B2B SaaS and GTM metrics - you can move fluidly between ARR, NRR, pipeline coverage, CAC payback, and capacity models without losing the narrative thread

    • Exceptional analytical rigor paired with sharp business judgment - you know when the model needs more work and when it’s time to make a call

    • A genuine builder with a player-coach approach: you’re energized by defining what “great” looks like and building the team and systems to get there

    • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing finance teams

    • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills - written, verbal, and visual - with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and board-level audiences

    • Fintech or financial services experience is a plus, but not required
