Welcoming Jelena McWilliams to Plaid

I’m excited to welcome Jelena McWilliams as Plaid’s President of Corporate and External Affairs. 

Jelena is one of the most respected leaders in financial services. She’s served as Chairman of the FDIC, Chief Legal Officer at a major bank, and, most recently, a partner at Cravath advising some of the most important companies in the industry.

Financial services is in the midst of major change. Banks are digitizing en masse, fintech companies have become a mainstay for consumers, and the pace of innovation in retail financial services is the fastest I’ve seen. Our industry is continuing to push the boundaries on AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics – and doing so amidst a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. And of course, we are continuing to focus on open banking and protecting consumers’ rights to their financial data. 

Jelena has spent her career helping institutions and the industry lead through change. She’s been a consistent voice for transparency, consumer protection, and innovation. She understands how systems work and how to make them better. Her experience will be invaluable as we help the industry continue to innovate at Plaid and as an industry.
