Product Updates - June 2025
In the leadup to Plaid Effects, we continue to ship a range of powerful new features and improvements across the Plaid platform. Highlights include smarter account verification flows, expanded coverage for business accounts and deeper fraud and credit risk signals. We’ve also launched our new MCP Server with Anthropic and OpenAI so you can better manage your integrations with AI, like chatting directly with Claude to get real-time updates on Link conversion metrics. We’re announcing a ton more in the next few weeks, don’t forget to sign up for Plaid Effects.
Here’s a quick look at what’s new and what’s better across Plaid.

What’s new:
✨ New tabbed UX for selecting Auth method
Our updated Embedded Link experience now lets users easily choose between instant or manual account linking—improving clarity, reducing drop-off, and driving higher conversion. Check it out below and in our updated Pay-by-Bank Adoption Guide.
🚀 Automated sandbox simulations in Transfer
Launch, refund, or sweep transfers in sandbox with a single API call (just use our special test amounts). No manual scripting needed—perfect for pre-launch testing. See our updated docs.
What’s better:
📊 Account verification analytics
The Plaid Dashboard now contains overall & over-time metrics for your Link flows, plus deep dives into Auth & Identity Match configurations.
Credit Underwriting
Featured products: Consumer Report
What’s new:
🖥️ Improve risk assessment with partner insights: Prism Data has released version 4 of their model which is trained on an even larger consortium dataset than version 3. When generating partner insights via /link/token/create, you can now specify which model version to use for each product in the prism_versions object within the cra_options object. Starting in November 2025, you will be required to specify a version for each product you are requesting data for. The prism_products string will also be deprecated in November 2025.
📈 Visibility into usage and institution status: In the Plaid dashboard, you can now view all billable usage for Base Report, Base Report Refresh, Income Insights, Income Insights Refresh, Partner Insights, and Network Insights. Additionally, when viewing institution status, you’ll see Consumer Report within the list of supported products for all eligible institutions.
What’s better:
🔀 Get help with migrating to consumer report: Access easy-to-use guides if you’re migrating from using Transactions to Base Report, and from Income to Income Insights. This is in addition to the guide for migrating from Assets to Base Report.
Fraud & Risk
Featured products: Identity Verification, Signal
What’s new:
🔐Re-authentication via selfie checks
Plaid IDV now lets you prompt returning users for a new selfie check, instantly matching it against their previously verified selfie to confirm it's the same person. It’s a powerful way to stop account takeovers (ATOs), verify identity in right-to-work scenarios, or add assurance before high-value actions. Read more about this feature plus all of the other new IDV features here.
What’s better:
🛠️ Smarter, clearer Signal rules are here
We’ve rolled out updates to the Signal Rules Service and Dashboard to give you clearer visibility into how transaction decisions are made. These enhancements include new fields that show the specific action taken (accept, reroute, or review), details on which rule triggered that action, and internal notes to help with debugging. You can also define custom action keys to programmatically control outcomes like hold periods.
🔍 Expanded account status coverage coming soon:
To support stronger risk decisions, we’re expanding coverage of account frozen and closure status attributes by leveraging more data from the Signal network—giving you deeper visibility and more reliable signals for decisioning.
