When you partner with Plaid, improvements to our network and products flow through to your product automatically. Here’s what we have improved this month and what could unlock better performance for your business.
Now, on to the updates.
Open Finance
Fidelity now shows up as a supported institution: Fidelity is now supported across Link, /institutions/get, and Dashboard. Customers can pin Fidelity as a top institution in Link, and if they're not yet enabled, they can request access directly in the Dashboard (OAuth Institution tab → Request access).
Introducing MCP for Data Partners, now in Early Access: Data partners can connect an AI agent (Claude, Cursor, Codex) directly to Plaid to investigate, diagnose, and resolve integration issues in a single automated loop — no more logging into the dashboard, decoding errors, and looping in an engineer for every fix.
Account Verification & Payments
Identity Match | Setting up Identity Match just got easier. Activate recommended rules in one click, while retaining control to customize thresholds as needed. Identity Match helps verify account ownership with 99.5% matching precision, so you can onboard more verified users and reduce ACH returns.
Credit Underwriting
Consumer Report | See why a Check report fails and what’s recoverable: We’ve improved our CHECK_REPORT_FAILED webhooks to now include error, repairable_items, and failed_products. Details on the new error codes (when they fire and what you should do) can be found here.
Fraud & Risk
Identity Verification | Cross-Template Search in IDV Dashboard: The IDV Dashboard search view now supports searching across multiple templates at once instead of one at a time — a small change customers have already noticed and appreciated.
Identity Verification | OTP verification via phone call: Users who can't receive a text (or just prefer not to) can now tap "Get a Phone Call Instead" to verify their one-time-passcode by voice call instead, with the old SMS code automatically invalidated. This addresses accessibility needs under ADA and gives every user a path to complete verification.
Onboarding
Layer | Layer now supports Signal: You can now use Layer to create items that support Signal Transactions Scores. Add Signal as a product to your Layer template via the Plaid dashboard, and items created from the template will be initialized for Signal based on your settings — without modifying any code.
Financial Management Insights
Investments | Improved Securities data: The Securities enrichment pipeline now better handles identifier changes from corporate actions like renames, mergers, and delistings. Over 95% of holdings returned through Investments and Investments Move now include name, security type, and at least two identifiers among CUSIP, ISIN, and Ticker.
