API error responses

Inaccurate balance

Common causes

The /accounts/get endpoint is being used instead of /accounts/balance/get for real-time data.
Available balance is being reported when the user expects to see current balance, or vice-versa.

For use cases where real-time balance data is required, make sure to call /accounts/balance/get instead of /accounts/get. Data returned by /accounts/get is cached and may be 24 hours old or older.

Plaid returns both available balance (the amount currently available to spend) and current balance (the amount that will be available to spend after pending transactions are posted). If a user reports that their balance is incorrect, make sure that they are not comparing Plaid's reported available balance to their current balance, or vice-versa.
