ACH Payment Operations Lead

We’re looking for an experienced ACH Payment Operations lead to join the Transfers team. Our team is responsible for Plaid’s suite of bank transfer products and our mission is to reimagine how millions of consumers and fintechs move money in a convenient and secure way. Our service is depended on by dozens of companies to power their ACH payment needs and is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for someone to scale our payment operations function and team to exceed the customer demand.

  • Playing the role of subject matter expert and leader in payment operations
  • Influencing leadership on how to run an effective, efficient operations function
  • Building the Payment Operations function including hiring and managing a team of ACH Operations analysts, Treasury operations analysts and ACH operations data scientists as needed
  • Partnering with other teams and functions to improve efficiency, productivity, and performance
  • Ensuring that day-to-day payments operations processes are completed at high quality, resulting in minimal payment exceptions and timely processing while mitigating risk 
  • Developing and tracking key metrics to drive execution and identify opportunities for operational improvement
  • Building out processes, success measures, and operational playbooks outlining how Plaid would respond under various circumstances
  • Anticipating issues and risk, taking proactive measures to mitigate 
  • Executing on initiatives to operationalize Plaid’s payment operations, in close partnership with our Product, Engineering, Partnerships, and Compliance teams
  • Setting of rules to effectively monitor payment systems for abnormal activity, such as potential duplicate transactions or transaction structuring, and escalate to appropriate teams accordingly
  • Providing monthly reports to internal stakeholders and banking partners
  • Work directly with Plaid customers to resolve issues; gather customer needs and work with Product team to address
  • Lead research related to inbound client inquiries on end user transactions to ensure they are resolved quickly and efficientlyTeam building and managing others
  • Coaching and development of others
