ACH Payment Operations

Remote | Full-time

We evaluate what to pursue, craft strategies to maximize impact, and help teams deliver market success.

We believe the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and infrastructure developers need to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

We’re looking for an experienced ACH Payment Operations team member to join the Transfers & Payments team. Our team is responsible for Plaid’s suite of money transfer products and our mission is to reimagine how millions of consumers and fintechs move money in a convenient and secure way. Our service is depended on by companies to power their ACH payment needs and is growing rapidly, and we’re looking to scale our operations team to support the business!

What excites you:

  • Using your subject matter expertise and experience to help influence how things are done and improve efficiency and efficacy
  • Partnering with other teams and functions to improve efficiency, productivity, and performance
  • Ensuring that day-to-day payments operations processes are completed at high quality, resulting in minimal payment exceptions and timely processing while mitigating risk
  • Performing on processes and playbooks that are already defined
  • Assisting with the improvement/creation of new processes and operational playbooks
  • Anticipating issues and risk, and escalating to your Lead with suggestions on how to take proactive measures to mitigate
  • Ensuring ODFI, RDFI, Nacha and other expectations are met timely by performing job duties effectively
  • Assisting with the creation of monthly reports to internal stakeholders and banking partners
  • Working directly with Plaid customers to resolve issues; gathering customer needs and working with various teams to address
  • Leading research related to inbound client inquiries on end user transactions to ensure they are resolved quickly and efficiently

What excites us:

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in ACH payment operations (even better if you have experience at a high-growth fintech startup)
  • You have a strong understanding of ACH originations, returns, settlements and all the glorious stuff in between
  • You love ACH payments and maybe you’re an AAP or want to be an AAP
  • You have direct experience in performing daily tasks on an ACH operations team
  • You love being prepared; you’re organized
  • You deploy processes and playbooks so that we can all sleep well at night or make suggestions to improve them so we can all sleep even better at night
  • You can represent Plaid, communicating effectively with customers, partners, regulators
  • You roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • When things go wrong, you’re cool under fire
  • You have a growth mindset, always looking to learn and improve
