Product Manager - Data Replatforming

New York / San Francisco | Full-time

We evaluate what to pursue, craft strategies to maximize impact, and help teams deliver market success.

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

Plaid is looking for a Product Manager to help lead the evolution of our data platform as we integrate with, and migrate our customers to, new connectivity APIs in partnership with financial institutions (FIs). In this role, you will serve as a leader helping to evaluate and deliver solutions which will drive a new API revolution in open finance. This position is vital to ensuring cross-functional delivery on key milestones related to Plaid’s API goals in 2021 and beyond.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Financial Access and Engineering Teams to evaluate, scope and capacity plan for connectivity APIs across multiple FIs. You will be key in setting priorities, timelines and resourcing in order to hit our goals.
  • Setting and delivering on a roadmap for scalability. This role is not just about each individual API, it’s also about ensuring the Plaid platform is optimized to support all APIs and migrations at scale, as efficiently as possible.
  • Designing technical solutions to improve connectivity APIs.  You will be on the front lines of identifying how we can improve these APIs, such as via Plaid Exchange.
  • Ensuring the timely delivery and scaling of connectivity APIs, in order to hit our milestones. You will be a critical cross-functional, operational lead in ensuring that the org moves as one, with shared momentum and minimal surprises.
  • Balancing FI needs with those of our customers. These migrations require ongoing stakeholder management and a 360-degree view of our business. You will be a key leader in ensuring equilibrium and alignment between FIs, Plaid, and our customers.

What excites us:

  • 6+ years of Product Management or Technical Product Management experience
  • Experience in complex migrations or platform work with multiple important stakeholders
  • Proven track record of timely technical delivery and business impact
  • Knowledge of, or appreciation for, technical solutions and architecture
  • Rigorous, disciplined operational approach - technical project management a plus
  • Cross-functional leadership and a collaborative demeanor - one team, one dream
  • Presence, poise, and disciplined follow-through - both internally and with external Financial Institutions

What excites you:

  • The opportunity to fundamentally reshape the foundation of FinTech
  • Digging into complexity and making sense of it
  • Making a plan and nailing the delivery
  • Identifying recurring patterns or problems to design scalable, universal solutions
  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver tangible results
  • Working closely with Engineering on complex, mission-critical work
  • Collaboration with senior company leadership
  • Working in a fast-paced environment that values self-starters, solid judgment and fast decision-making
