This role requires a critical thinker and strong communicator who can quickly digest and execute tactical and strategic objectives with existing and emerging policy stakeholders. This role requires developing in-depth knowledge of key policymakers, financial institutions, and trade and consumer groups and maintaining relationships that are critical to advancing Plaid’s policy and business priorities. This person will be responsible for relating policy back to Plaid’s business to influence strategic decisions across a variety of teams to drive desirable policy and company outcomes.
Additionally, this person should also have an aptitude for navigating complex political dynamics and be confident representing Plaid with external partners. It requires someone who is technically inclined, who can translate “tech talk” and “business concepts” into “policy wonk”, and vice versa This person should be able to identify new policy or industry relationships or policymaking that could advance Plaid’s business.
