Financial Access

Financial Institution Solutions Technical Lead

New York | Full-time

At Plaid, our mission is to unlock financial freedom for everyone.  There has never been a better time than now to start building the future of fintech with us. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

The Financial Institution Solutions Technical Lead role is on the Financial Institution Solutions team at Plaid, and combines a deep understanding of data transfer methods and large data sets to help Plaid and FIs [financial institutions] collaborate on API solutions for a more secure, robust, and reliable ecosystem.

Plaid is looking for an experienced technical professional who has a strong understanding of integrations with large and complex data exchanged through tokenized API channels. The right candidate will be comfortable navigating different data exchange integrations, is able to leverage tools to best monitor and report on integration health, and has a strong record of working closely with Product and Engineering functions on technical roadmaps.

You will serve as the SME for metrics around performance and quality for data exchange, and will streamline dashboards and tools that will be used both internally within Plaid, and externally with FIs to assess integration health. You must be motivated and take a hands-on approach to understanding Plaid’s tech-stack and product offerings and identifying areas of improvement.

What You'll Do

  • Facilitate meaningful technical agreements with financial institutions by helping them transition to an API-based future-state
  • Leverage internal and external APIs to design solutions that deliver top notch experiences for the rapidly growing fintech ecosystem
  • Become an in house expert at navigating and guiding Plaid's Financial Access team through complex financial data, correlation with Plaid's products and using advanced SQL skills to present insights and recommendations
  • Working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment that is different every day

What Excites Us

  • A track record of running through walls to deliver results on API based solutions including designing specifications, testing and measuring outcomes
  • 5-8 years of total professional experience working with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Product, Support, Legal and Growth
  • Experience working with and manipulating large sets of data to deliver powerful stories to internal and external stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurship, startup, management consulting, financial institution or private equity experience with external stakeholder collaboration a plus
