Software Engineer - Update Pipeline

San Francisco | Full-time

We build simple yet innovative consumer products and developer APIs that shape how everybody interacts with money and the financial system.

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

Our ability to support new products, markets, and users rests on the quality of the internal platform, abstractions, and APIs that we build. The better common building blocks we create, the faster we enable other engineering teams to build and scale each product for our customers and our users.

We are hiring a Software Engineer for our Core Services team, which provides common abstractions and primitives. For example, the creation of a single external API route can require the ability to permission, schedule updates to, retrieve, and send notifications about multiple core data models.

As an engineer, you’ll help build, scale, and design the next generation of Plaid’s product infrastructure. Our engineering culture is IC-driven—we favor bottom-up ideation and empowerment of our incredibly talented team. We're guided by our principles, including impact, growing together, embracing openness and positivity, and inventing tomorrow; we're looking for people motivated by those same principles.
