Software Engineer - Product (Auth, Balance, Identity)

San Francisco | Full-time

We build simple yet innovative consumer products and developer APIs that shape how everybody interacts with money and the financial system.

We believe the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and infrastructure developers need to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.

The Auth, Balance, and Identity team’s work is at the heart of Plaid’s vision to unlock financial freedom for everyone. These products power democratized access to important information to help FinTechs move money, open bank accounts, make lending decisions, manage personal finances, among other use cases. This team ideates, designs, and builds solutions to improve these products through new product functionality and technical infrastructure.

You’ll be responsible for implementing new product features that add or change the functionality of Auth, Balance, and Identity products. You will also be expected to work with product managers and even Plaid customers to collect feedback, build appropriate metrics and analytics to quantify the right behavior, and collaborate and propose solutions before executing on them.

To address core product needs, you will also need to understand, design, and implement infrastructure changes and/or new systems that impact systems across Plaid, including Plaid’s core cloud infrastructure.

You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment and be expected to lead initiatives end-to-end with partners within and outside of the Auth, Balance, and Identity team.
