We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo and SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 11,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Salt Lake City, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
We built the Apprenticeship Program for non-traditional backgrounds and under represented groups who are ready to jump into the industry. We believe that every engineer regardless of seniority works on exciting, meaningful projects, and defines our technical and product strategy. To that extent, we have put a lot of careful thought into designing a program that ensures our apprentices not only develop a strong foundation of knowledge, but also get exposure and opportunities to make meaningful impact on our products. We’ve created an environment in which you should feel comfortable diving in and tackling some of Plaid’s biggest initiatives. There is no hierarchy when it comes to titles, and a super collaborative team is waiting to brainstorm your ideas whether it be over lunch, in a sprint planning session, or a check-in. We move fast, have fun, and help each other out.
Here’s just a sample of some of the projects offered under the Apprenticeship program:
Credit: The credit team is building new products, Income and Assets, that accelerate the loan application process, allowing for an easier consumer experience when applying for credit. These products span the Plaid’s full code base and require close engagement with other engineering teams and x-functional partners.
International: The international team works on cleaning open banking integrations, to get things ready to the building of the “payments” product in Europe. This isn’t Payments initiation which is most close to our Auth product in the US, but has to operate differently because of open banking.
The Apprenticeship will start in October 2021 and will be located in San Francisco
