About Design at Plaid
The design team at Plaid is made up of product designers, design systems designers, brand designers, researchers, and content strategists who work with our cross-functional partners to create Plaid’s products & services, and deepen Plaid’s understanding of the world around it.

What you’ll do
The Head of Research & Insights will own the conversation around how Plaid can deepen its knowledge of the various constituencies its serves, and deliver even better products and services that are squarely based on their needs. This is an opportunity to come in and continue to scale the R&I team, define and establish best working processes and practices, and think up ways for the work of the team to exert greater influence over what Plaid does from both a product and company strategy perspective. You’ll also get to contribute to the cultural growth of a rapidly scaling team, forming a key part of the Design leadership team.

  • Defining and owning the overall strategy & approach for how research & insights can drive customer-, and consumer- centricity throughout everything that Plaid does
  • Growing a team to help deliver on that strategy & approach, and working with partners across the organisation to understand how Research & Insights can enable them to make better decisions
  • Being the point person at Plaid for all conversations about how we develop a deeper understanding of the needs of all of our constituencies: consumers, customers and financial institutions
  • Nurturing and growing the overall culture of the Design team at Plaid
  • Understanding and developing tools and methods for how insights can influence product and company strategy
  • Advocating at all levels for an insights-centered approach

What excites us

  • Direct experience for advocating for an insights-centered approach at the most senior levels of a company (this can come from either in-house or agency experience)
  • Understanding of how to prioritise and organise the work of a research team within a rapidly scaling culture
  • Clear experience of how to connect research & insights work directly to product outcomes
  • Experience of setting clear priorities that align with business unit or company outcomes
  • Experience advocating for research and an insights-led approach at a business unit or company level
